2018 NBA free agency rumors: Lakers warn entire staff not to tamper

ESPN reported earlier this week that Leonard would prefer to be traded to the Lakers.

Per NBA rules, teams are prohibited from negotiating with free agents until midnight on July 1.

Los Angeles has received punishment twice in the past for tampering, but this year the Lakers want to make sure the rules are “crystal clear to everyone” to avoid punishment from the league.
