Anyone can play for $100 million in the Fortnite World Cup

It’s about time you finally started seeing some real recognition for your exemplary Fortnite skills. That’s why you should be signing up for the Fortnite World Cup.

Launching in 2019, the tournament is offering $ 100 million in prize money and will be open to anyone.

It’s not easy to become a professional gamer or a popular streamer. Ninja might be raking in half a million dollars a month by playing Fortnite on Twitch, but the vast majority don’t earn enough from streaming alone to pay their bills.

Epic Games wants to change that by opening up one of its e-sports tournaments to everyone. If you’re good at Battle Royale, you could take home some serious cash.

Fortnite World Cup kicks off in 2019

The Fortnite World Cup gives anyone a shot at its whopping $ 100 million prize pool. The qualifiers will begin this fall, while the tournament itself kicks off in late 2019.

“We’ll be supporting community organized events, online events, and major organized competitions all over the world, where anyone can participate, and anyone can win,” explains Epic Games.

“The $ 100,000,000 will be split between many events at different levels of competition around the globe. Fortnite World Cup play will focus on Solos and Duos, but there’ll be plenty of opportunities to squad-up in competition, too.”

This is “for you, the players,” Epic adds. Qualifications will be based on merit, and Epic will not sell teams or franchises, or allow third-party leagues to do so, either. It wants every Fortnite player to be able to take part.

Epic says it will confirm the rules, code of conduct, the fall 2018 schedule, and other specifics later. You can sign up for more information through its website
