Gossip: Shaqiri in, Bailly out of Man United?

SHAQIRI TO MAN UNITED
Liverpool have long been linked with Swiss square Xherdan Shaqiri but it seems that Manchester United might steal a march on the Reds with a £12m move for the winger recently relegated with Stoke City. Jose Mourinho has apparently told ‘friends’ (say The Sun) that he has been impressed with Shaqiri’s performances at the World Cup and Shaqiri has told his ‘friends’ that he likes the idea of moving to Old Trafford. Well he would.

He said on Wednesday: “I want to stay in the Premier League, and you will find out my new club soon.”

BAILLING OUT?
You would hardly blame him. The Sun claim that Eric Bailly ‘wants talks with Jose Mourinho to sort his long-term Manchester United future before the start of the season’ after being pushed down the centre-half pecking order at the end of last season.

The report says he is ‘happy’ at Manchester United but does not want to spend another season on the bench. Who wants to tell him that Jose Mourinho is likely to bring in another centre-half?

WILSHERE IN WEST HAM TALKS
Jack Wilshere has held ‘face-to-face talks’ with Manuel Pellegrini about a possible move to West Ham, according to the Daily Mail. Obviously, he wants to know if the Chilean sees him as an integral part of the team or just back-up to Mark Noble.

There is an offer from Fenerbahce on the table but Wilshere would prefer not to uproot his young family to Turkey. Everton have also been mentioned as a possible destination but West Ham are the current favourites.

AND THE REST
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain for £53m…Chelsea will make a move for Inter Milan’s Uruguay midfielder Matias Vecino when Maurizio Sarri becomes manager…Everton have made contact with Barcelona over a potential deal for Colombian defender Yerry Mina…West Brom’s English goalkeeper Ben Foster is set to complete a £2.5m move to Watford…Newcastle and Scotland winger Matt Ritchie has been offered a £4m-a-year contract to join Stoke.
