A pastor with Rhema Pentecostal Church International, Ijeoma Okoli, has lost her 11-year-old marriage as the Agege Customary Court dissolved the union.
The marriage between Ijeoma and her husband, Ifeanyi Okoli, was dissolved over domestic violence.
Thirty-six-year-old Ijeoma told the court that she was fed up with her husband’s character.
She said, “My husband was aggressive, untrustworthy and troublesome. I want peace, l don’t want any problem in my life, the court should end our marriage as I don’t love him again.”
Ijeoma informed the court that she had separated from her husband since 2013.
“I have been responsible for our children’s upkeep. I pray the court to separate us so that I can live comfortably with my children,” she added.
The President of the court, Mrs Ibironke Elabor, said, “Since both parties consented to the dissolution of the marriage, this court has no choice but to dissolve the marriage.
The court pronounced the marriage between Mrs Ijeoma Okoli and Mr Ifeanyi Okoli dissolved and asked both parties to cease to be husband and wife.
She gave the custody of the two children of the marriage to the wife and instructed the husband to pay N20,000 monthly for their upkeep.
