Xherdan Shaqiri wants to “stay in the Premier League” amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
Shaqiri tried his utmost to avert Stoke’s relegation, but in the end his performances simply delayed the inevitable last season.
He was Stoke’s top scorer, top assist provider, had more shots than any other player, created more than twice the amount of chances as any other player, and was just generally the edible crust in a sh*t sandwich.
The winger is almost certain to leave instead of playing in the Championship, and Liverpool have emerged as a potential suitor.
But United have also been linked, and Shaqiri has offered something of an update on his future.
“At the moment, I can’t say anything,” he said, saying things.
“You’re going to hear soon on my future.
“I was not thinking about this because I was just focused on my national team and I wanted to make a good tournament for my team and my nation.
“It’s pretty normal to be aware of clubs being interested.
“Of course, I would like to play on the biggest stage in football, everybody knows that.
“I hope I can stay in the Premier League. I hope so, but you never know with football. I don’t rule out anything.”
